History of the Frisco Old Town Community

Originally established in the early 1990s as the Main Street Merchants Association, and later renamed to the Frisco Rail District Merchants Association in 2017, the organization was created to unite business owners in Frisco’s Historic Downtown. Its founding goal was to foster collaboration among local businesses and strengthen the sense of community in the area, setting the stage for what would become a vibrant and growing district.

In 2025, in response to the evolving needs of the city and the growing spirit of collaboration, the association was renamed to Frisco Old Town Community to better reflect its expanded mission and the diverse group of people it serves.

What began as a small collective of local business owners in the Frisco Rail District has since blossomed into an inclusive, community-driven organization. Today, the Frisco Old Town Community brings together business owners, property owners, residents, city organizations, and anyone with a vested interest in nurturing the unique culture and vibrancy of the Rail District. Through collaborative programs, partnerships, and a shared passion for Frisco’s growth, we work to enhance the heart of our city and create lasting positive impact for all who call this historic district home.

The primary goal of the Frisco Old Town Community is to champion the support and growth of our beloved community. Our vision is to preserve the rich history of Historic Downtown Frisco while ensuring its ongoing health and success for generations to come.

Each year, events hosted within the Rail District continue to grow, offering the community unique and authentic experiences. Highlights include the annual Frisco StrEATS Food Truck & Music Festival, quarterly Sip, Shop & Stroll events, festive holiday celebration Christmas Tree Lighting, and charming small-town events such as Spring Field Day, along with so much more. These gatherings are designed to foster connection, celebrate our heritage, and create lasting memories for residents and visitors alike.
